FundingTetbury in Bloom is funded by Grants and DonationsTetbury in Bloom has to raise funds to maintain existing projects and do any new work by securing grants and donations and holding fund raising events. This year, even though we wont be competing in either the regional or national In Bloom campaigns, we will continue to maintain our high standards and keep the town looking good, as Tetbury people and visitors have come to expect. To achieve this, we still need funds and we estimate that we need to raise about £6,000 to pay for all the plants and materials we will use throughout the town this year, including maintaining and replenishing the flower beds, entrance troughs, wildflower areas, the churchyard and other displays. It is a lot to do and even though we have adopted sustainable planting schemes to reduce the numbers of plants we buy we do still need to buy quite a lot of stuff from our local suppliers. With no large and generous source of grant funding available, that means that we are mostly reliant on local people and local businesses, societies and organisations to support us. We have been both pleased and humbled at the response and support we have received through the years. We are always very pleased to receive your support, whether in kind, as a donation, helping out when we need it or supporting any of our fundraising events. Every penny we raise is used to improve the displays this year and for future years, and support other Tetbury in Bloom projects. Not a penny is spent on manpower. We are proud of our town and the people that have been so supportive of our efforts to make it better and keep it special. We are very grateful for the fantastic support we have received from local people and organisations, as well as other sources of grant funding, this year and in previous years. That we have so much to do, to maintain and improve so many sites throughout the town, and that we can have such a widespread impact on how our town looks (and feels) is in no small part due to the generosity of everyone who has supported us. The sale of our hanging baskets to Tetbury businesses and residents is one of our main ways of fund raising. The small profit from their sale goes directly into financing other displays within the town. The more money we can raise, the more the In Bloom team can do and every donation however large or small is used for the benefit of everyone in the town.
